I went diving with Eva this morning and she really surprised me with her skills! She hasn`t completed the open water course yet but she behaved very calmly and I truly believe that she is a *natural*!!! We had a great dive in Yonehara Pukapi Minami!  

Congratulation to Takahashi-San for his 50th dive!




Also, not only did we see mantas on the 29th of May, but a shy white tip swimming around us!


It was the first one I saw while diving in Ishigaki and it made me very happy since I like reef sharks a lot!

  

近すぎた

Nowadays, Manta ray follow through on making us feel so happy!!
最近マンタの「出」具合がいいです、本当に。



Oops, it's too closely. It's very very a few chance, Manta ray herself swam to me and passed just above me.
危な～い、ぶつかる。今日は１匹のマンタがぼくに突進してきて頭上すれすれを通過していきました。ごくたまにこういうこともあります。



Jane, Peter and Darris also were excited about the actual 'Manta scramble' with me. Thank you!!
本日ワタクシと一緒にマンタスクランブルな興奮を味わったメンバーです。ジェーンさん、ペーターさん、ダリスさん。



P.S. an optional shot: Very tall gentleman, Darris, for him our boat rest room was too narrow!! You can see his head over the top of rest room.
番外編：約２００㎝あるダリスさん、カイト号のトイレはちょっと小さかったようです。天井から頭が出てしまいました。トイレの天井は塞がっていませんが、もちろん全くの想定外です。

Today, our Diving school Umicoza welcomed a famous Japanese actress and a TV program started filming.

張り込み作戦

Yesterday was last dive day for Mark from Toronto, Canada, he'd enjoyed diving with us on May 19 and 20 but unfortunately Manta ray hadn't appeared for two days.
昨日はカナダはトロントから来てくれたマークさんと潜りました。合計３日間ダイビングでしたが、前日と前々日は残念ながらマンタははずしております。

So we really wanted him to see Manta ray, and headed for Manta scramble from the morning. In our first diving the time passed quickly underwater, one turtle swam away from us instead of Manta ray. After coming back to the our boat, I offered one cunning plan to the big Canadian, 'I want to try Manta again, but next dive is your last dive in here Ishigaki.... So we want no more failure, my tactics is.....'
何とか彼にマンタを見てもらいたいと他のお客様にもご協力いただいて朝よりマンタスクランブルに出向きました。でも、１本目のダイビングでは時間ばかりいたずらに過ぎタイムアップ目的であるマンタは見ることができず大きなカメが我々の目の前を通過しただけでした。船に戻ったあとぼくは、マークさんに「O.K.次ははずさないようにスノーケリングでマンタを水面から確認したあとエントリーしよう！」と奇策を提案しました。

After changing a tank, I jumped in the water with only flipper and mask. I checked Manta ray existed or not from the surface by snorkeling before starting our second dive.
タンクを交換したあと、３点セットをつけて飛び込みました。

30 minutes later, from the surface we realized one big black shade started hovering just below our boat.
'Yes, Manta ray is coming! Jump in the water!'
でもなかなかマンタは現れてくれません、諦めかけたそのとき船の下に大きな黒い影がすうっと現れてホバリングを始めました。「マンタだ、マンタ。よし行こう！！」



In his last dive in here Ishigaki island, Mark saw 3 Manta ray and it became awesome his total 51 dives.
マークさんの石垣島でのダイビング、通算５１本目のダイビングはきっと忘れ難いものになったはずです。

本日の石垣島は梅雨前線もどこへやらの晴れ☀
風も南風で暖かく気温が32℃にもなりました。
石垣島はそろそろ梅雨明け？かな

今日は体験ダイブでお越しのＨさんと常連さんのＫさん、連日のＭａｒｋさんの三名様
早速米原へと行ってきました。
米原についてちょっと事件があるはずのブイが無い！
どうも人の手により切られたらしい、誰がやったかはわかりませんがサンゴを破壊しない等の理由があって付けてるのに…やめてくれ

話を元に戻して今日は体験チーム、体験ダイブ初めてのＨさん
初めはちょっと緊張気味でしたが、いざ海の中へ行くと本当に体験？と思うほど上手に泳いでおりました。
こうなれば米原のサンゴを見てもらわねばとサンゴ中心のご紹介
気がつけばあっという間の30分でした。

気を良くしてマンタＰへ
昨日はマンタがDay Offだったみたいですが今日はとばかりにエントリー
しかし！まさかの二連休！！
明日は頼むぞマンタ三連休はやめてくれ！

本日の石垣島は梅雨前線のため昨日からの雨模様が残り朝方は曇り
海は北風から東風に変わり大分波も落ち着いてきました。

本日のゲストは2名様
到着後のＭさんと連日のＭさんダブルＭさんコンビで海へと行ってまいりました。
マンタ大のご希望とあって一本目からマンタへ
入って透明度の良さに「おぉ！」となりましたが、振り返って考えると透明度が良すぎたときにあまりマンタが出たためしがない。
結果はやっぱりというか…でした。

上がってこのままではということになり、再度チャレンジ！
水面休息中スノーケルでマンタチェック！！
待つこと40分マンタの到来とともにエントリーしてどうにかマンタとご対面できました。
これでいなくなってたらどうしようかと思いましたよ。本当

William came to dive with us from Taiwan with his lovely wife Sandy and he found this lovely giant reef ray sleeping at Yonehara South. He saw his first leaf scorpion fish and now they are on their way to see the Mantas at "Manta Scramble"! That sounds like a good day!  

Waiting 100 minutes, and.......

今年もマンタを見るため！？に清水さん率いるダイブステーション３５（サンゴ）のみなさんが海講座に来てくれました。１２日の午後は最後の最後のちら見、これじゃ満足できないと１３日はマンタスクランブルで２ダイブです。
Dive station 35 (in Japanese pronounced 'Sango' , it also means coral in Japanese), a diving service in Mie prefecture led by Mr. Shimizu, visited to our Diving school Umicoza. They'd also come last year, but missed Manta ray. On May 12 afternoon our first try at Manta ray point had conducted, the result was that just end of diving one manta ray had given us only glimpse. Being eager for more Manta ray, on 13 we dived twice there.

お昼前のダイビングは悪戯に時間が流れタイムアップ最後までマンタは現れませんでした、午後から仕切りなおしのもう１本も既に４０本経過。いやムードだなと思ったそのとき、来ました。
Before noon diving was completely failed, 60 minutes passed very quickly. And in after noon dive already 40 minutes was passing...........



しっかりホバリング姿も拝ましてもらいました。
Yes, one Manta ray appeared and we saw his hovering.

Sullen countenance

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

のっけからぶっ細工なこの顔はファニが見つけたオニダルマオコゼです。背びれに猛毒があることでよ～く知られていますが、意外なことにこの魚なかなかの美味でございます。先日も近くのじんべい（電話0980-84-4819）で食べたオニダルマオコゼのから揚げはおしかったです。
This sullen countenance is stone fish, wel-known for poisonous sting in their dorsal fin, that was found by Fanie today. If you step it unaware, it may be better to call ambulance. But the fact that the meat is delicious is seemed to be not known well. Some weeks ago, I tried cooked stone fish at Jinbei, a nice shushi bar in Kabira. Of course it's good taste.

If you don`t happen to be a diver and that for some reason you can`t try the introduction diving you can also enjoy as special experience with the manta while snorkeling. This picture was taken while swimming with a lovely pregnant woman who had the chance to see the mantas from very close!

New diver!!

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

神奈川県厚木市にお勤めのドイツ人ラースさん、３日間のオープンウォーターダイバー講習を無事終了です。ぼくも社会人になりたてのころ、厚木に住んでいたので話が盛り上がりました。
German gentle man Lars, now working in Atusgi-city Kanagawa prefecture, completed PADI Open water diver certification course. I also used to live in Atsugi, in my fresh office worker days. So our talk about Atsugi went on lively.



講習の最後はマンタのおまけつきです。
In final diving Manta ray celebrate him, 'Congratulations, New diver!!'

How's it going, everybody?

ここのところブログご無沙汰で、海講座は開店休業か！？と心配された方も多いかもしれませんが。しっかり営業しております、ＧＷを迎えフル回転です。ブログの更新に手が回りませんでした。
Do you think our Diving school Umicoza is closed? Because our blog wasn't updated somewhile......Don't worry about it. We're open everyday and in GW, Golden Week big holidays in Japan, many guests are visiting us. We're sorry that it's no time to update it.
